A back up plan.
Something that's practical.
Something that'll pay the bills.
Something that at least makes you happy every now and then.
Something that works and that you can quickly make a career of.
Although it doesn't truly fulfill you or match the desires you've set out for yourself since you've been a child.
I wrote the previous portion (what you just read) around the end of 2016. 2016! I can't believe that was literally two years ago. Man, time really does fly. But around the end of that year I knew there were things I hadn't done or even tried to accomplish due to fear and disbelief in myself. That following year, 2017, I did things that I wanted to do and avoided the things I didn't want to do. I decided I would push myself and at least take a chance on things that I wanted. If it didn't work out, at least I could say I tried and put effort into it.
The year 2017 was when I decided to go back into theatre; well technically I went back in 2016 as a volunteer at a local theatre (which I now consider a home). But 2017 was when I actually began to learn, do and become more involved with it. I performed in two shows, worked backstage and volunteered more within the theatre, volunteered for Girls on the Run, quit my job (because I wasn't happy and didn't feel as though I was growing as a teacher), took a break from grad school, began substitute teaching (can't get away from school it seems), went to LA for a writer's retreat and breathed! When I say I truly enjoyed that year, I truly enjoyed 2017 once I began doing what I wanted.
I truly believe that when you do what you want, happiness literally begins to show within you (as long as it's positive). Now I wouldn't suggest quitting a job before having something else in place, but if it's necessary then try it.
The year 2017 was great, 2018 came with changes for the good (still being determined although it's the end of the year). I'll include you in come next year. LOL I'm now looking forward and praying to make 2019 even better!
2017 = Believe and Do!
2018 = Strive and Thrive
2019 = Accomplish
